Garment Care

Cardamom is all about reducing industry waste and prolonging the life of clothing. Here are some suggestions to give your wardrobe a long and fresh life.

Washing

Delicate machine wash cycles are always recommended for Cardamom garments, all clothing really. Pants and jackets generally don’t get that dirty with every wear, so try spot cleaning at first and get as many wears as you can out of them before washing.

Washing clothing does slowly degrade them overtime as is expected, however this can be slowed down with gentle wash cycles using cold water. This will give your garments the best chance of staying ‘new' for longer and is less likely to cause fabric shrinkage and damage.

Drying

Line drying is the best way to ensure your garment’s longevity.

Clothes dryers are not recommended for any Cardamom product. While they will not instantly be ruined if you do use dryers, it is just a more harsh drying method and therefore discouraged. If however line drying isn’t an option for you, use a low/delicates dryer setting.

Wool

Dry cleaning is your safest bet when cleaning wool garments, however this isn’t viable for everyone and isn’t the most convenient option. A cold hand wash or gentle wool washing machine cycle with wool detergent will be absolutely fine. Dry heavier wool garments flat across the clothes line to prevent warping.

Never put a wool product on a normal machine cycle or in a clothes dryer. It will probably shrink if you do.
